Alliance Alloys Ltd is a UK based company formed in 2024 and located in Sheffield, the birthplace of stainless steel.
Our UK director, Jonathan Bower, started his career in the stainless steel and nickel alloy recycling industry with ELG Haniel Metals Ltd in 1991.
Following a structured training and development programme he gained experience in a wide variety of roles within the company. Starting with 18 months operational experience he progressed into the commercial department covering domestic UK buying eventually leading into foundry sales and international trading roles. In 2012 he was appointed Commercial Director for the UK business, heading the UK trading team as the leading processor of stainless steel in the country. By 2020 following reorganisation within the European holding company, he was appointed VP Commercial North EMEA region. This involved full commercial responsibility for all trading activities within the EMEA North region. As well as heading the Northern region buying team this also involved responsibility for the company’s sales into two major EU based stainless steel mills plus all group sales into India.
In a wider industry context he has represented the UK on the BIR Stainless Steel Committee as well as serving as a member of the LME Nickel Committee.
This next chapter in his career is an exciting opportunity to develop Alliance Alloys Ltd as a leading buyer of foundry suitable nickel alloys within Europe.
